When treating orthodontic cases, the first and most important thing to consider is that every case in unique; this is why we use The Individual Patient (IP) Appliance® system.

Currently, the standard treatment by dentists used is 'straight archwire' appliances with one bracket design and one archwire for all patients, which is not always sufficient to treat all tooth movements.

The IP Appliance® system allows us to custom pick the optimal wire for each individual patient and the optimal bracket for each individual tooth. This results in faster, more consistent treatment results.

This is aided by computer generated orthodontic technology that produces more stable results. Your teeth, bone structure and facial profile are analysed to develop a custom treatment plan specifically for you.

The purpose of this method is to produce an accurate prediction of where the case will finish before we start treatment.

In some cases, intervention is required before orthodontic treatment can begin. This usually occurs in young, growing patients. A before and after x-ray can be seen below of intervention using a herbst appliance for a Class II case.

If you are interested in braces or think you need braces, the first step will be to come in and sit down for a consult and further information with your options can be given to you.
