Preventative Dentistry

Preventing a dental problem is always better, easier and cheaper than solving one. Giving our patients the tools and knowledge to protect their natural teeth from decay and disease is the best treatment we can offer.

There are many strategies that individuals and families can implement to ensure healthy teeth and mouths, here are a few:

  • Encourage daily brushing and flossing

  • Make regular visits to your dentist (6-9 monthly)

  • Rinse your mouth with water after having something sugary or acidic

  • Floss at night before you brush your teeth to wash out any bacteria

  • Stay hydrated to assist in saliva's protective capabilities

  • Make sure you brush for 2 minutes with a fluoride containing toothpaste

  • Use a soft-bristled toothbrush

  • Chew sugar free gum to stimulate saliva production

  • Hard crunchy health foods like carrots and apples can help clean your teeth naturally, making them the perfect snack

  • Increase your children's intake of natural dairy for strong teeth and bones
